Product Information
Product Introduction
Turtlebacks are a new product adding layers of convenience, durability, and safety when bonding aircraft and ground support equipment to a hangar’s floor grid. The low profile structure allows you to easily leave grounding cables securely connected throughout daily maintenance and ground handling activities. Keep your cable connections lasting longer with the protection of the Turtleback. More importantly, greatly reduce cables disconnecting from the hangar floor by everyday activity all while reducing trip hazards. Turtlebacks bring aircraft static grounding into the 21st century. We are a VETERAN OWNED company.
Product Application
Turtlebacks are meant for indoor hangar floor use to add convenience and safety to everyday hangar operations. Quickly install a Turtleback and connect up to four aircraft or support equipment units to your hangar grid.
Usage and Installation
The Turtleback is a 12” low profile disc that sits just under two inches above the hangar floor. The height and taper of the disc allows for aircraft and GSE to easily roll over while providing a virtually trip free surface for maintainers and pilots alike.
A jumper extends from a metal “spider” underneath that allows for easy attachment to the electrode in the floor.
The Turtleback can then be slid over the grounding point, ready for attachment to the hangar floor. Four stainless fasteners provide secure mounting to concrete anchors. Standard clamp connectors can be changed out to the provided aircraft bayonet plugs and you are all set.
Key Benefits
Reduces trip hazards caused by current method for grounding aircraft.
Keeps cables secure to avoid unintentional cable disconnection.
Convenience to leave grounding cables connected for normal maintenance operations and towing.

Manufacturing
The Turtleback is manufactured and assembled in the United States. We are a completely veteran-owned company based in North Carolina. The shell is made from durable nylon 6-6. The metal spider is .025 5052-H32 aluminum with a clear chromate finish. Our connectors are provided by woman-owned R&B Electronics with both connectors already having been assigned NSN’s. All attaching hardware is commercially available.
Coming Soon
An updated version of the Turtleback will be available later this year. V4 will incorporate and even stronger shell along with attach points for ¼ - 20 attaching screws which will remove the need for the nylon spacers. Less parts make for an even easier installation.
